Ken Fain was born in Fairbury, a small town in southeast Nebraska, and later moved to Oakland, Iowa, where he started school. Immediately out of high school, Fain joined the United States Marine Corps and served as a radiotelegraph operator and field radio operator. After the Marines, he went on to study at Central Missouri State University, where he received bachelor and master’s degrees in education. Fain is the author of The Russian Connection, and when he isn’t working on his next book, Fain is an avid photographer.
